Madison Park Volunteer Fire Company covers an approximately 4 square mile area. Our state certified firefighters provide fire suppression, as well as performing rescue operations whenever necessary. Established in 1956, our company protects the Township of Old Bridge Fire District #4. Other companies include Laurence Harbor Fire Department (District 1) in the eastern edge of town, Cheesequake Fire Department (District 2) to the East and South Old Bridge Fire Department (District 3) to the South.
In addition to serving Old Bridge Township, our firefighters provide mutual aid to surrounding towns including Sayreville, South Amboy, and Perth Amboy and are available to respond to any other request in Middlesex County. Mutual aid agreements between neighboring towns and departments ensure that residents are supported by the manpower and equipment necessary in the event of an emergency. Additionally, Madison Park Volunteer Fire Company is frequently called into action as a Rapid Intervention Team “RIT” to rescue a downed firefighter should the need arise.
MPVFC boasts a membership of approximately 30 active firefighters responding to an average of 120 calls per year. Our members are dedicated to maintaining the highest level of skills within fire suppression, rescue and extrication The department trains regularly and members spend collectively hundreds of hours a year honing their skills. Additionally many members continuously supplement their training through local County Fire Academies and Universities. Our membership is also responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of 1 fire station and 8 fire apparatus as well as the equipment within each vehicle.
